Makerspace Guidelines

The Makerspace is located on the first floor of the Santori Library near the west entrance.

The purpose of the Makerspace is to provide customers with innovative technology to support educational, professional and personal goals and endeavors.

Everyone is welcome to use the Makerspace on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations for tours or special events can be made in person or by phone at 630-264-4203; by sending an email to: Digital Services Staff. Reservations will be held for 10 minutes.

Library customers ages 12 and older may use the Makerspace without adult supervision. Library customers ages 11 and younger must have a parent/guardian with them at all times. The Makerspace is available for two hours at a time. However, customers may stay longer if there is no demand for the equipment at the end of their time slot.

The Makerspace computers are for creating and making purposes. Customers who need internet and basic printing access may use express stations or visit the computer lab on the second floor.

Behavior in the Makerspace must be consistent with the library’s Code of Conduct policy. Internet and equipment usage must be consistent with the Internet Use policy.

Aurora Public Library reserves the right to halt, delete, or disallow the creation of items that violate Aurora Public Library policy including the creation of weapons, pornography, or illegal items.

Available Equipment

A variety of equipment available in the Makerspace can be used at a charge. Please click here to see the brochure highlighting the makerspace technology.

All equipment available in the Makerspace must stay within the library. It is the responsibility of the customer to delete and/or remove any files (digital or print) from the library equipment in the Makerspace. The library is not responsible for equipment or files (digital or print) left behind by customers.
