Wireless devices that use a web browser will be able to login to the wireless network. Wireless devices that do not have a web browser, like the Nintendo 2-screen device e.g., will not be able to login to the Library’s wireless network.
Windows XP will detect the wireless network automatically. Non- Windows XP devices may need to define the wireless network “SSID” which is “tsunami” before they can login if their device does not detect the wireless network automatically .
Once the wireless device is able to detect the wireless network, you should be able to simply launch your web browser to the aurora public library login page.
Once the login page is up, simply enter an email address in order to login. An Aurora Public Library Card or Computer Use Only Card is not needed.
If the login page does not come up, you will need to make sure your web browser is set to automatically detect the proxy server in order to bring up the login page. Internet Explorer sets itself to use this setting by default, so the majority of Windows-based devices should not have to make any setting changes to get to the wireless login page. In order to get to the web browser settings that make sure the wireless login page is displayed on Internet Explorer, click on Tools, Options, Connections Tab, LAN Settings. The “automatically detect settings” box MUST be checked. Screen shots of this operation on Internet Explorer are below.
