Do Your Part to Keep the Library Safe

Welcome back to the library! A few things have changed since we closed. We’re taking some extra precautions to ensure the health and safety of customers and staff in our buildings. Here’s what you can do to help.

  • Our Browse & Go service is by appointment only. Appointments must be made 24 hours in advance. Make an appointment here
  • We ask that you limit your time in the library, with a maximum of one hour per day. Please note, a total maximum limit of 60 minutes is allowed in the library which may include a combination of Browse & Go and Public Computer appointments.
  • Customers are required to wear a mask or face covering at all times while inside the building.
  • Be sure to follow CDC guidelines and keep 6 feet of social distance from others.
  • Limit your contact with library materials as much as possible. You can do this by searching our catalog or browsing the library app (available in the App Store or on Google Play) ahead of time.
  • Once you are ready to check out, please use the library app or a self-check machine, if possible.
  • Most importantly, stay home if you are sick!

Safety Precautions

Here’s what the library is doing to minimize the risk of infection.

  • Cleaning is being prioritized and will be in the future, including multiple times a day, at all locations, and stressed at high-touch points.
  • Sanitizer stations have been placed around our buildings in high-touch areas.
  • Our spaces have been reorganized to allow for more spacing between seating.
  • Directional signs have been placed throughout library buildings to encourage a one-way flow of traffic, including in the stacks.
  • All staff desks have been fitted with plexiglass.
  • Air filters are being changed more frequently, and fresh air exchange is operating at twice the rate it was pre-pandemic.
  • Per state guidelines, water fountains are currently unavailable. However, bottle filling stations may still be used.
  • We will continue to quarantine returned items for 72 hours.
  • Toys and other shared objects have been removed from children’s areas.
  • Cash payments will not be accepted at this time.
