Thank you for your interest in presenting a program at the Aurora Public Library District! Programs at the Aurora Public Library District are designed to support the strategic plan goals and vision of this organization:
Pillars of the 2021 Strategic Plan:
1. Advancing through Equity
2. Restoring Aurora
3. Achieving School Success
4. Welcoming New Americans
Vision: Where Aurora Comes Together to Discover, Create, Connect, and Succeed
Please note that the library works toward an intentional yearly programming schedule of events. Program proposals should be submitted at least four to six months in advance of the requested event date, unless the content addresses an urgent community information need in response to current events.
Due to the high volume of proposals we receive, the library may not be able to respond directly to every request. If we are interested in scheduling your program, we will contact you for more information.
We aspire to offer programs and events that are responsive to the needs and interests of our community. The pillars outlined above are vital initiatives, and program proposals that strongly align with one or more will have a greater chance of approval.
All library programs are free and open to the public, regardless of library card registration status or residence. These initiatives are non-commercial in nature, therefore all solicitation and private sector product or service sales are prohibited.
Programming and event partnerships provide the library organization with a rich network of opportunities for connecting with our community. When we partner with another organization for an event or initiative, we will have clear expectations for the collaboration and share the workload of designing a program that mutually satisfies the strategic plan, goals, and mission of both organizations.
As a non-profit organization funded through property tax revenue, with a separate fundraising entity of our own to provide supplemental budgetary support, we are not able to enter a partnership solely as a financial sponsor. Library fundraising is the responsibility of the Aurora Public Library Foundation, who initiates and coordinates those events independently from library programming. Programmers who wish to include a donation component to their event must consult the Foundation Manager for more information.
