The Aurora Public Library is open for curbside hold pickup. Customers can place items on hold from home. Once your items are available for pickup, we will notify you when holds are ready to schedule a pickup time.

Drive-thru service at Santori Library and Curbside Pickup service at Eola Road Branch and West Branch are available:


Mondays: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Tuesdays: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Wednesdays: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Thursdays: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Fridays: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Saturdays: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Sundays: CLOSED

How It Works

1.     Place items on hold using the library website and select a pickup location. Curbside/drive-thru hold pickup will be available at all three library locations.

2.     Once your items are available for pickup, we will notify you.

3.     At your scheduled pickup time:

  • Santori Library: Enter the drive-thru lane.
  • Eola Road Branch: Park in a designated pickup area and text your name to (630) 415-0199.
  • West Branch: Park in a designated pickup area and text your name to (630) 415-0197 or call (630) 264-3620.

*Please note: After you text the numbers provided for Eola Road Branch or West Branch, you will receive a welcome message with a link. Please click on the link and follow the instructions.

4.     Library staff will deliver materials in disposable bags with no direct contact:

  • By placing them in your trunk or through the passenger-side window at Eola Road Branch & West Branch.
  • Through the pickup window at Santori Library.

FAQs

I returned my materials, but I still see them on my account.

Please allow 7 days for items to be checked in. Don’t worry, all late fees are waived during this period!

Can I bring my own bags?

No need! We'll bag the books up for you!

Should I wear a mask?

Customers are encouraged to wear masks when picking up their materials.

Why can’t I return my materials at the curbside/drive-thru pickup?

To safeguard the health of our customers and staff, library materials will be delivered with no direct contact. Please use library book drops for returns to ensure the process of quarantining items runs smoothly!

How can I check out my holds?

Staff will ensure your materials are checked out to you prior to your pickup time.

When is the due date?

During this time period all late fees are waived, and due dates are extended through October 31, 2020.

How soon can I expect to pick up my requested materials?

Wait times will depend on availability. After you place your hold, please allow at least one week for staff to quarantine and process materials.

I don’t have a library card. Can I place items on hold?

Can I still donate items?

At this time, we will not be accepting donations until further notice.

Staff will wear gloves and face coverings to ensure their safety as well as that of our customers. Library materials will be delivered in disposable bags with no direct contact.

Home Delivery Program

The Aurora Public Library Outreach Services Department (OSD) is pleased to announce the expansion of the homebound delivery program. This “no contact” delivery service is now open to Aurora residents who meet any of the following criteria:

  1. Illness, injury, or physical handicap regardless of length of time
  2. Customers who previously visited the Bookmobile as their primary library branch
  3. Customers previously served at lobby stops
  4. Vulnerable population (self-professed)
  5. Lack of reliable transportation
  6. Reside more than 2 miles from any branch  

Using the Mini B, this is strictly a drop-and-go holds delivery service. After determining qualification for the program, customers will place their own holds via phone or website, with a limit of 10 items per delivery. When the holds have arrived, OSD staff will contact the customer to arrange the delivery date and window of time. Items will be placed in disposable plastic bags and left at the customer’s front door. At this time, returns will not be picked up due to space limitations in the Mini B and the need for quarantine.

Public Computer Appointments are for use by appointment only—no walk-ins. Customers are currently limited to one computer session per day with a reservation required. For more information, visit www.aurorapubliclibrary.org/computer-appointments.

Beginning July 13, customers will be able to register for an appointment online or by phone to browse the library's collection in person.
