Are you passionate about the Aurora Public Library District?  Would you enjoy working with a great group of people dedicated to making the library the best it can be?  Are you a strategic leader with a big heart for Aurora?

If your answer is yes, then please consider applying to join the Board of Library Trustees!  The seven-member board meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month to provide fiscal oversight, adopt governing policies, and set the library’s strategic direction.  The board advocates for the library in the community and with our elected officials, and the board is essential to the library’s ability to serve the community.

The selected candidate will serve until the next regular election in April 2025.

“Library trustees are powerful advocates for libraries… As part of a trustee board, trustees serve on a volunteer basis, can be elected or appointed to a library board for a period of time, and are tasked with the duty of helping to direct the funds and policies of an institution. In general, the library board of trustees has a role in determining the mission of the library, setting the policy that governs the library, hiring and evaluating a library director, and overseeing the general management of the library.” (Become a Library Trustee)
