Winter Reading Adventure

December 1, 2020 – January 31, 2021

Join us for year’s online-only winter reading adventure! Complete 10 activities during the program and win a free book! Complete 20 activities for a bonus prize!

How to participate

  1. Register for the Winter Reading Adventure starting December 1, 2020. To register, click here. For a paper log, download it here.

  2. Complete those activities you enjoy – any activity can be repeated more than once. Make sure to log your activities via Beanstack as well.

            Activities include:

    • Read a book with snow on the cover

    • Read while enjoying a warm beverage

    • Read a book about a different country or that takes place in another country

    • Read a book about someone different from you

    • Read a magazine or newspaper online using PressReader

    • Read a book about first responders

    • Read to a sibling or someone else

    • Curl up with a blanket and read

    • Listen to an audiobook cd or digitally on Hoopla or Overdrive/Libby

    • Attend a virtual library program

    • Try a digital library database

    • Do a science experience and share a photo on Facebook

    • Cook or bake something sweet and enjoy

    • Learn about a winter holiday you don’t normally celebrate

    • Learn about an arctic animal

    • Learn something new

    • Build a fort and read inside it

    • Tell someone about one of your favorite stories or make up a new one

    • Take a walk or drive to enjoy the holiday lights in your neighborhood

    • Try birdwatching at home or at a park
