Using Freegal on Your Desktop
- Use the access link and click Login.
- Enter your library card information, and then click Log In.
- You will return to the Home page, which has curated and featured content.
There are three ways to save a file for later. Tap the three dots for a file or album.
- If you want to add a song to a playlist, click the add-to-list button, and then select either Create Playlist or a playlist you’ve already created. To add an entire album to a playlist, click the three-dot icon and select Add to playlist. When creating a new playlist, enter the name of the playlist and a description of the songs inside, and then click Create New Playlist. You can find your playlists and saved music in the My Music tab.
Using the Freegal App
- Download the Freegal app.
- When you first open the app, Freegal might ask to access your location. Tap Allow or Don’t Allow to continue. If you choose not to allow access, enter your zip code, and then tap the Continue button.
- Tap Aurora Public Library District and enter your library card information, and then tap Log In.

- Add to streaming playlist - When you tap the play or stream button, a player will open at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap to download - Downloaded files and playlists are found in the My Music tab.
- Add to wishlist - When you tap the play or stream button, a player will open at the bottom of the screen.
Hoopla

Using Hoopla on Your Desktop
- Go to hoopladigital.com or use the access link.
- Select Sign Up.
- Select Aurora Public Library District.
- Follow the steps to register with your library card number and PIN.
- Enter email address and password to log in.
- Use the menu to browse content.
Using the Hoopla App
- Get the free Hoopla App from the app store/marketplace for your device.
- Select Sign Up.
- Select Aurora Public Library District.
- Follow the steps to register with your library card number and PIN.
- Enter email address and password to log in.
- Use the menu to browse content.
Return Materials Early
- Open Hoopla.
- Go to My Titles >Borrowed.
- Select the title you want to return.
- Select Return Now.
Libby
Using Libby on Your Desktop
- Use the access link above. Note, Libby works best in up-to-date versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.
- Find Aurora Public Library District.
- Borrow a title from the digital collection. You'll need a valid APLD library card to complete this step.
- Enjoy! You can enjoy many titles immediately online, download them for offline use, or send borrowed ebooks to a Kindle device (U.S. libraries and schools only).
If you're on a computer, you may also be able to transfer titles to compatible ereaders.
Using the Libby App
- Download or open Libby on your device.
- In Libby, follow the prompts to find Aurora Public Library District and sign in with a library card.
- Browse the library's catalog and borrow a title.
- Borrowed titles appear on your Shelf and download to the app automatically when you're connected to Wi-Fi, so you can read them when you're offline.
- On your Shelf, tap loans at the top of the screen. From there, you can:
- Tap Read With... to choose where you'd like to read the book (Kindle or Libby), then finish sending to Kindle (U.S. libraries only) or start reading in Libby.
-Tap Open In Libby, Open Magazine, or Open Audiobook to start reading or listening in the app.
- Tap Manage Loan to see options like Renew and Return.
If you're on a computer, you may also be able to transfer titles to compatible ereaders.

Create an Account (optional)
Creating a PressReader account allows you to follow publications and read across devices.
- Click the PressReader link above.
- Click the Account button on the PressReader site.
- Click "New User. Sign Up Now."
- Fill out the form and click "Create My Account."
- You’ll be taken to the PressReader home screen. Now you can add publications to your account and read across devices.
Tumblebook Library

Using Tumblebook on Your Desktop
- Click the access link above.
- On the login page, enter your library card information and then click Submit.
- Once on the homepage you can start reading.
- To read a book, click Read Online.
- To learn more about a title, click a book cover.
- Book summary pages contain information about the title’s author, illustrator, and lexile level.
- Books are arranged into several categories:
- Browse by category or genre using the Story Books, Read Alongs, Non Fiction, and Videos tabs in the header menu.
- If you’re looking for something specific, click the TumbleSearch icon to search.
- The TumbleSearch page will appear with specific search categories to choose from. You may only search one category at a time.
- Storybooks open in TumbleBook Player and are automatically read aloud.
-Click the arrow buttons to turn the page.
-Click the pause button to pause the narration.
- Chapter books open in TumbleReader. Click the right or left side of the screen to turn pages.
- The Playlist tab has pre-made collections of content that follow certain themes. Playlists focus on the length of time it takes to read or listen to a book. To get started, click a playlist name.
Using the Tumblebook app
- Download the Tumblebook Library app
- When opening the app for the first time, tap Library
- Enter your country and state. Once you’re finished, tap Next.
- Enter your your library card information. Once finished, tap Log in.
- TumbleBooks will go to the home screen where you can scroll down to browse .
- Tap the menu icon to browse categories.
- Tap TumbleSearch to look for something specific. The Tumble search page will appear with specific search categories to choose from. You may only search one category at a time.
- Tap the menu icon to browse categories.
- TumbleBooks will open story books in the Tumblebook Player and will begin automatically. To see the player interface, tap the screen. Use the Tumblebook Player interface to pause, play, and rewind the book. Use the slider in the upper right corner to change the volume. Tap the green play button to hear the book read aloud, tap the screen to see the interface, and tap the back arrow to exit the book.
